Belle Isle Entertainment is proudly owned and
operated by Keith and Krissy McKoy of Raleigh,
North Carolina. My lovely wife Krissy McKoy is the
Business Manager and General Partner. I am the
Entertainment Director and Service Partner (DJ).
I have DJ-ed for over 20 years, getting my start in
1983 as a guest DJ with a crew called Chocolate
Funk. Later that year I played with The Mix Masters,
a crew I formed with a childhood friend. We were
best known for our "one nighters", parties we threw
for one night with guests from throughout Raleigh.

We believe in customer satisfaction and professional music and entertainment service of the
highest quality. Our motto is... "Its all about the MUSIC!!" It does us or you no good if we have
all the party perks, and your guests are sitting down bored watching the light show! We believe in
getting them up so they can shake that thang!! Whatever your musical taste is, we can provide it
with no hesitation or reservation.
We also believe musical entertainment should be affordable!! Our fees are nominal for sure. If
you think not, just compare us to some other companies. We only charge you for the actual show
we provide!! You won't get any "set up" or "break down" fees from us. Likewise, we won't pass
the cost of our equipment on to you. We got into this business because we LOVE MUSIC first and
foremost. With us, you pay for the MUSIC!! Not our name, our website, our equipment, etc. Just
the music!! ...And it's worth every penny!!
Finally, I was the DJ for a family based crew called "The Dynamic Floor Rockers", which was a
break-dance, rap, and DJ crew that travelled all over North Carolina performing shows. I provided
the music for the crew while they rapped and did their break-dance routines. I also rapped and did
break-dance routines when someone else was on the wheels.
In 1992 while a soldier in the US Army, I joined the staff of WABD - Powerhits 1370, the hottest
hip-hop station in Clarksville, TN. I served as a radio air personality, rap director, did mix shows,
and DJ-ed live and remote events. During these years, I also had a mobile DJ service I formed with
an army buddy. The climax of my DJ career came in 1993 when I did a stint as DJ for "Cloud Nine"
a nightclub in Hopkinsville, KY. This is where I honed my skills and learned to read crowds.
While Krissy and I were doing our wedding plans, we were seeking a DJ for our reception. We
were both a little dissatisfied with the choices we had. They were either too expensive or didn't
have the music mix we wanted. Because we were both over 30, we wanted a DJ that had old
school R&B and a nice jazz collection. No one fit our bill. In our frustration, we decided that I should
do the music since I had everything we wanted. Of course, that would be way too difficult....to DJ at
my OWN wedding reception. We ended up settling on a DJ, but we had to provide the music for
him to play. We still had a good time, but realized the need for a mobile DJ service t hat provided
music and entertainment that way we (and people our ages) like music.
So.....we started Belle Isle Entertainment.
